The G.O.A.T
I call this layout The G.O.A.T. (Greatest of All Time) of Railfair because it is the oldest and most recognized layout at Railfair. It is possible as old as Railfair itself and is a family tradition to visit for many families.
It's a simple layout by design with a piece of board, grass paper, a basic loop and with maybe a branch of track, construction paper roads and lakes, simple built building, hot wheels, and a fully decorated Christmas tree. It was original designed and ran by Sam Ellis but after his sudden passing in 2016 it was taken over by his friend Rick Crigger who has no plans to stop taken it to Railfair. Sam built that layout as simple as it is to show that anybody can build a layout and all you need is your imagination.
